GTA 6: a console-first release

Rockstar has confirmed GTA 6 for November 19, 2026, but on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. No PC version has been announced, and Rockstar's history (GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2) suggests a PC port usually lands around two years after the console release. Since the entire RP scene lives on PC, GTA V and its roleplay still have plenty of runway.

FiveM is upgrading with GTA V Enhanced

Far from fading, FiveM is being modernized. A dedicated GTA V Enhanced build has entered early access, running alongside FiveM Legacy rather than replacing it. It is built on an overhaul of OneSync, the technology that breaks past the old 32-player limit:

Rockstar backs roleplay

Another strong signal: Rockstar is now directly involved in the roleplay ecosystem. RP is one of the main reasons GTA V is still played so heavily more than a decade after launch, and the publisher clearly understands that. This new legitimacy makes the scene more stable and durable than it was a few years ago.

Should you launch a FiveM server now?

Yes, the timing is good. The GTA 6 hype is pulling players back toward roleplay, while a PC version of GTA 6 remains far off. Launching or growing an RP server today means positioning yourself while the PC community is at its peak.
