How many players can join a The Forest server?
The dedicated The Forest server supports up to 8 players in co-op. It's ideal for surviving and building together against the island's cannibals.
Is my progress saved on the server?
Yes, the server saves your progress, your buildings and your story advancement. For added safety, also use the backup slots included in your plan, which you can run or schedule from the panel.
Can I change the difficulty of my The Forest server?
Absolutely. You can configure the game mode (Normal, Hard, Vegetarian or Peaceful) as well as other survival options from the server settings.
Does The Forest require a lot of resources?
A little more than you might expect: The Forest's dedicated server only exists for Windows, and we run it under Wine on our servers, which takes extra memory. Plan for 4 GB for up to 4 players and 6 GB for the official maximum of 8 players, which is the plan we recommend.
